OUR PRESCHOOL
At Simple Gifts Montessori, our goal is to foster your child's natural desire to explore the world and learn how it works. Children are natural experimenters, and our classroom and curriculum give them the perfect setting where they can fill this need. With low teacher to student ratios and hands-on materials that promote brain growth, your child will receive the support and attention they need to thrive and develop strong learning habits. Our three year learning cycle, which includes kindergarten, is a time tested curriculum that ensures students become self-reflective, confident and curious learners.
Our daily phonics exercises provide a step by step approach to decoding the sounds they have absorbed since birth and lays the groundwork for writing and reading. The Montessori approach to math begins with a concrete experience of quantity and then moves to the abstract, helping students embody a sense of numbers and how they work. We offer themed science units centered around an element of biology to help students grow into natural stewards of their world. Our daily Grace and Courtesy lessons give them a window into strengthening their self compassion as well as empathy towards others. We dance, sing songs, memorize poetry, build our vocabulary, care for our plants and do yoga as well. Each day, we walk to our neighborhood park for about an hour of free play. We also offer experiences playing real musical instruments, such as piano, violin or ukulele as a part of their school day. Based on a deep respect for each child's individual learning journey, you can trust that we will find the activities that most contribute to your child's long term success.
